An eldery lady was convinced by phone scammers to let them have remote access to her computer after they claimed that her PC had been hacked, would close down, was ruuning slowly and had errors. And she paid them $90. No legitimate firm phones about your computer. Don’t be taken in by them.

If you are on BTinternet and are having problems downloading emails with Outlook or Outlook Express etc it is probably due to a large attachment. I have been told by BTinternet that there is a problem with attachments over 1000KB at the moment and all you can do is to log onto webmail instead.

If you do not want Google to save your history in any account you sign into, follow the instructions to switch off History.
If you do not sign into any Google platform no personalised history is recorded. Browser cookies may retain some data but these can be easily deleted.

Scam phone callers claiming that your computer has problems get you to allow remote access and persuade you to pay £160 to correct the errors. There are lots of reports of similar scams from around the UK and the rest of the world.

A lost Word Processing file was found, data on a failed hard drive was recovered and a dropped external back up drive was mended. What a week!
