Try changing the WiFi channel if it does not work properly

1 August, 2011

Had problems connecting a Kodak wireless All-in-One to a wireless laptop.  The printer had connected to the router alright and had an IP address.  The laptop was connected to the router and had an IP address.  Both devices were registered in the router with their name or MAC code.  But when I ran the software in the laptop to enable wireless printing, the printer could not be found. Very odd!

The resolution was to change the wireless channel. The Thomson router was set to Automatic  channel selection and it had chosen channel 6.  I changed that manually to channel 1 and hey presto, the laptop found the printer and started printing. I have resolved WiFi problems in a similar manner in the past, but this struck me as particularly weird.
